I shot my first roll of film on a cold, windy christmas night at an intersection in uptown Fredericton using a bar stool to support the camera because I didn't own a tripod at the time. Halfway through the roll I left my bar stool for a minute, thinking it would be safe because nobody was around and it was Christmas day and all. As I was crossing the street this car full of four guys comes out of nowhere and pulls up beside my "tripod", one of the guys jumps out, throws the stool into the back of the car and they speed off down Regent Street. This happened in a matter of seconds and I was in shock. Who the hell steals on Christmas? This was my first photographing experience and I still owe my parents a stool. |
